Shirah is a multidisciplinary artist based in Boston. As a teaching artist, Shirah develops art workshops for audiences ranging from young children to adults in museums, universities, schools, camps, and synagogues. Rubinβs work often incorporates ceramics, utilizing materials appropriate to the metaphorical, historical, and social elements of a project. Shirah is interested in inventing three-dimensional worlds by creating installations, sculptural ceramics, mosaics, and most recently public art interventions. The worlds she creates explore memory and the challenges posed by its fragile nature.
